“It was blood, all right,” that puddled on the floor of Will Henry’s transmission shop. But it wasn’t the result of a murder, or an accident. It came from the tears of the black velvet painting of Jesus that hung on the back wall alongside a faded calendar photo of a naked, air-brushed Miss April. These were Will’s good luck charms, and holy icons- his protective “angels” on the road of life.

Will couldn’t explain the tears of blood, but neither could any of the believers, skeptics, non-believers, or simply curious spectators who lined up to watch the painting cry. Only the truly faithful witnessed the tears and passed along the phenomenon of “the cryin’ Jesus” until Will’s life and the daily routines of the little town of Harmony Falls were both turned on their heads. His spiritual journey was about to begin and his life would be changed forever down a path less traveled.
